He requested that it be filled with The Red Panda. Now he wanders through the house with his headphones on quoting Steven Burly at the beginning and end of every show "And now Decoder Ring Theatre presents to continuing adventures of Canada's greatest superhero, that scourge of the underworld, hunter of those who prey upon the innocent, that marvelous masked mystery man known only as the Red Panda............." His 12 year old brother will do it too when we play it in the Jeep each night, they both have huge collection of memorized quotes from the show. Is this common to your kids too? or are mine just odd (like I was at that age too)? | | | 02-15-2008 | #2 | | Audiofile Janice is offline Join Date: Jan 2008 Posts: 1,299 | Your kids sound charming! I'm not fortunate enough to have children of my own, so I consider it my responsibility to influence those of the people around me. My sister's children are more into Black Jack and Trixie, but aren't quoting them. Yet. I do find myself voicing the intro along with Mr. Burley, though. -Janice | | | | Waiting for the Right Moment.. | | 02-16-2008 | #3 | | Moderator Jack J Ward is offline Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia Posts: 1,914 | Waiting for the Right Moment.. I'm just waiting for the right moment to say to Shannon, "Kit Baxter... BEHAVE yourself." But that would have to assume that she did behave herself ay any time to really make it stick. *L* J | | | 03-17-2008 | #4 | | Disgruntled Since 1984 Jerm is offline Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Posts: 325 | Now I'm wishing I had kids to get them interested in radio drama. I'm sure that feeling will pass in a few minutes though. | | | 03-17-2008 | #5 | | Imagination Lane Audio alexachipman is offline Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Petaluma, CA & Harlech, UK Posts: 1,748 | I wish I had kids, too. But I definitely quote the Red Panda...do I count? And if I had children I'd be ever saying "Kit Baxter...behaaave yourself!" | | | 03-17-2008 | #6 | | Disgruntled Since 1984 Jerm is offline Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Posts: 325 | I quote Jack, or at least the style. I was doing that before I listened and now it's just worse. Just ask half the people I work with. | | | 03-17-2008 | #7 | | Audiofile Janice is offline Join Date: Jan 2008 Posts: 1,299 | | Quote: | | | | | ... When I'm referring to an ongoing problem that needs, needs, needs to be resolved, I'll say it'll be fixed tomorrow, "The Red Panda swears it!" I wish I could talk more like Trixie, though. I so want to be her when I grow up. -Janice | | | 03-17-2008 | #8 | | Imagination Lane Audio alexachipman is offline Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Petaluma, CA & Harlech, UK Posts: 1,748 | | Quote: | | | | | I wish I could talk more like Trixie, though. | | | | | I, unfortunately, can and often will do a running narration comment in Trixie style which drives others quite mad. | | | 03-18-2008 | #9 | | Disgruntled Since 1984 Jerm is offline Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Posts: 325 | | Quote: | | | | | When I'm referring to an ongoing problem that needs, needs, needs to be resolved, I'll say it'll be fixed tomorrow, "The Red Panda swears it!" -Janice | | | | | I really wish you hadn't mentioned that. I might have to start doing that now, too. __________________ Anyone needs me, I'll be in the club car. | | | 05-02-2008 | #10 | | Disgruntled Since 1984 Jerm is offline Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Posts: 325 | What happens when you listen to DRT at work. __________________ Anyone needs me, I'll be in the club car. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | | All times are GMT -5.
