Exclamation Mark Time/Ogle Awards 2008!

The deadline for entry in the annual Mark Time Awards / Ogle Awards
for science fiction and fantasy audio theater is coming up on March 1, 2008.

The Mark Time/Ogle Awards are the only awards given solely for audio
theater. This is their 12th year, and the entries are getting better
every year.
So, if you've produced science fiction or fantasy audio theater that
you're proud of in 2007, make it a point to enter. You will find an entry form at:

http://www.greatnorthernaudio.com/MarkTime/MT_Form.html.

Just fill it out, add a $25 entry fee, and send it in with 5 copies
of your entry.
You can find out more at
http://www.greatnorthernaudio.com/Ma.../MarkTime.html,
including past winners, the Mark Time SF Audio Hall of Fame, and
judging criteria.

The postmark deadline is March 1. The judges will notify winners by
Mid-May. The awards will be presented at CONvergence, July 3, 2008. Winners will be given
registration to the convention, a plaque and a t-shirt. It's a real
treat to meet with other producers and spend a weekend talking shop, in the company of others who
love science fiction. We will perform a new original radio show at
the beginning of the convention. And during the long weekend there will be time for an audio
panel, and an autographing party, so bring your products with you.

I wonder, does Mark Time (David Ossman) still participate in this event?

Hi!

I know he is not a judge of the Mark Time (which for those who might not know, the image used on the page is of his radio character), but I imagine he is still very active in ASFSFA. As for participating, am not sure if you mean submitting audio? I know there were no submissions last year by Firesign or David. Last year was the first year of my involvement, so I am not sure of years prior.

Another Firesign member, Philip Proctor, is one of the judges.

Exclamation

Postmark deadline for Mark Time Awards for science fiction audio theater, or Ogle Awards for fantasy audio has been extended to March 4 because of all the lousy weather and flue going around so if you still have an entry and haven't gotten it in the mail, get to it.

Yep- I came over to let everyone know just that!

That's postmarked too- so there is still lots of time to get your entry (or entries) together!

Also- I found out that if you have a fan audio, like Dr. Who or something along those lines, those can also be entered!

You know... say... Planet of the Apes. Or, well, just off the top of my head, Buffy... or Firefly....

Start making copies!

Wink Another year missed...

Missed it again...

Way too much stuff hits me this time of year.

At this moment, I'm practically double-triple booked (and don't get me wrong... it helps carry me through the dry months of July thru Sept)... but man...

I see the date coming... I say gosh - I should really toss in a few productions...

I hear about the extension...

Then I think... maybe I can...

and then ZOOM, I'm sitting here typing this pitiful post.

Best of luck to all who entered!!!!

Interesting award choices this year, as usual. I just started listening to Space Casey a few weeks ago. Funny stuff, and it's a pleasant surprise to see it nab the gold. Also, congrats to Rattenfanger R!
