As I mentioned in my post to the ModernAudioDrama Yahoo Group, I have to confess to being a little apprehensive posting here about our first on-line offering. So many of you have been doing this stuff for so long and have quite a catalog of shows under your belt and, though this is my group's 3rd year doing live performances, I feel like a beginner compared to most of you, especially with on-line offerings. Still, here we go... The Post-Meridian Radio Players present Red Shift Interplanetary Do-Gooder in "Havoc Over Holowood!": IT'S GO TIME! Join Red, Lumpy, Doctor Alberts and Penny Parker, Girl Reporter as they try to save a beloved space celebrity from his worst nightmare: angry fans with atomic weaponry! The PMRP (www.pmrp.org) present a recording of their quirky sci-fi comedy serial, Red Shift: Interplanetary Do-Gooder, performed live at Arisia, Boston's largest science-fiction convention, on January 20th, 2008. From the program: "Red Shift: Interplanetary Do-Gooder is writer/director Rob Noyes' vision of the World of Tomorrow. Not the bleak, post-nuclear wasteland or industrial urban dystopia of 1980's science-fiction, but the clean, modernist utopia imagined by the 1939 World's Fair: a future which, through industry and hard work, promised to be streamlined, prosperous and bright; and beyond it lay the Cosmos, just waiting for exploration and colonization. Red Shift and Lumpy lived in just this kind of Universe, and Dr. Alberts and Penny Parker were keen to travel there. It turned out, however, to be just slightly off-center from what they were expecting... "This production was written especially for Arisia '08 by Rob Noyes and the Red Shift Writing Team and, once again, they lovingly nibble at the hand that feeds it. Last year it was a look into Conventions of the Future! This time around, we look at Fandom of the Future! 'Havoc Over Holowood' points shiny blaster-things at many kinds of fans, from the unconditional lovers to the self-entitled haters of those who like to write fanfic in secret. You know who you are." Go to www.pmrp.org and listen to the trailer on our main page or follow the links and listen to low-quality or Internet-quality versions of both episodes! -N | | | | | Good stuff | | 01-29-2008 | #2 | | Audio Newbie Scott is offline Join Date: Jan 2008 Posts: 12 | Good stuff I was at the Con in Boston and saw this show. I found this to be very well done and also very funny. It is very similar to the shows done by by Great Northern Audio at the Convergence Sci Fi convention. It's well worth a listen. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | | All times are GMT -5.
