talking in a closet?

What's the best way to get a sound like you're in an enclosed space (apart from recording in an enclosed space)?

I'm talking what can I use to enhance the sound I already have - high/low pass filters? Reverb? etc?

in adobe audition there are settings for room under either the delay or reverb or echo filters <at work and can't remember the exact settings> and you can set the actual size of the room you are in and then adjust the echo.

Or using some echo <in audacity/GW/or others> flip the pre-panned scene and mix it back into the original panned scene, and ofset it a hair till you get the desired echo you want.

Just two thought son this. Email me and I can get some screne captures in auditions if ya want of various filters/settings I use etc.

Thanx - unfrotunately, I don't have audition - just audacity. And goldwave, for occasional stuff.

When you say "flip the pre-panned scene", what do you mean ?
Not reverse, I assume.

Reversing would mean playing them backwards (or at least it means that to me-LOL) By filp I mean swapping the left awith the right channel of the stereo track.

Or split them in Audacity and change that way.

If this makes sense. The offset (or delay when you move it a hair-from the original file) on the flipped version should not be much (or it will be too echoey) - and the volume should be at least 20% or more lower.

Trying to help and hope I am not muddying the waters here.

You can do this in GW too.

Flip left to right - got it. I'll give that a shot. It will be interesting to see how that turns out.

Also- you might in Goldwave play with the echo filter, but set the Delay slider to under 1000 (experiment with this etc)

Are you talking about hearing a conversation through the door of a closed closet or having the listener inside the closet with the VA's?

in Gold Wave- under filter/low high pass there is a muffled setting that works really well for speaking thru doors.

I've got "listening through door" pretty well down - no, this is "listener is in the closet with the characters"
