Default DRT on Facebook

Is there a way to post the newest show on Facebook through the DRT group?

Go with me on this. On Facebook, when you're a "fan" of a tv show you get instant updates. "New episode this Monday, don't forget to watch!" My knowledge is in AV not IT but is this something that could be used to DRT's benefit?

Also, I've seen where you can "share" a post. If an "official" post was made on the DRT group, we could then share it across FBLand. It might be an easy way to share DRT on a more consistant basis.

If I knew how do it, I'd offer to take care of it myself. Any thoughts on the issue?

So to help promote DRT on Facebook, we should all become "fans" or something? Not sure how to do this, but I'm perfectly willing to delcare my fondness for DRT to the world at large!

The IT ignert side of me is trying to figure out an easy way to post a direct link to the lastest show. A way for friends to click on the link that instantly starts the show, like a you tube video does.

Belle, if you get it figured out, please let me know. I'll do the same! There are a zillion people using Facebook, and it would be a great place to "introduce" potential listeners to DRT!

I wonder if I copied a link into a "comment"? Hmmmmmm...think I'll try it.

Belle, I did it! I went to the DRT homepage and copied the URL for the latest episode. Then I went to my Facebook homepage and started a "comment". I pasted the link, then wrote a brief commentary. The link showed in another small box under my comment. When I clicked on the link it started playing the episode while I was still on my Facebook homepage!!!

Jeez, I hope Gregg doesn't mind. I could be in REAL trouble...

Gregg, if I shouldn't have done this, mea maxima cupla! But if its okay, let's get everyone to do it with various episodes, and there will be billions of new listeners! Maybe even a few future dues paying members!

There is a "group" on fb for DRT...it's called Decoder Ring Theater Made Me Start Wearing Fedoras again. I believe it is an "unofficial" fan group.

SG, I actually do the same thing after every new episode is posted.... please, go nuts. That's Social Network Marketing you're doing for me, I love it.

In fact, there is a way to have updates from a blog automatically get posted on your wall, and if you entered the feed http://decoderring.libsyn.com/rss I think it would post updates automaically every time we put up a new episode.

There is a group, it's "unofficial" in that I am in no way in charge of it. I think all the "fan" stuff is something different, but I don't know for sure, as I am not a fan of anything. On facebook anyway. Maybe it's time I looked into this.

Sorry to be quiet on this, recording yesterday and feelin' like crap today

The RSS feed, THAT was what I had to figure out. Thanks to both of you for the help! A minion has to do what a minion has to do.
