Iv been listening to podcast's almost since its inception and i love it don't you?Well i guess you do as otherwise you wouldn't be here. I started listening to them at work just over a couple of years ago as i work in an office and all my music had become completely overused and had become boring. I began with listeniNg to Morevi and moved onto 7th Son which both blew me away in both their style of storytelling and their plots. I then found both the Sonic Society and Podiobook's and what more can you say about them than has already been said apart from kudos to Jack Ward and Evo Terra. There has been an explosion of excellent podcast's over the last year or so and the future is certainly bright but lets hope audio is the way it stays as iv heard more and more calls for the guys like Sigler,Hutchins and the Sonic Society to go video and that would just ruin my day folks. I could list all of the podcast's I listen to here but its getting a bit late and I have work tomorrow so i'll do it another time but I'm sure they will be mostly the same as the ones you all listen to so if your in china,America,India or Botswana I say goodnight to you and happy listening and as big Arnie is oh so fond of saying I'LL BE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | | | | | Audio versus Video | | 01-18-2008 | #2 | | Moderator Jack J Ward is offline Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia Posts: 1,914 | Audio versus Video Thanks so much for you very kind words. I'm really truly blown away by them. I'm just this guy you know.. who loves Audio Drama, and thinks that there's other folks out there who do too, and if they don't they should. So I'm just trying to spread the word of amazing works by others, and maybe write and produce a few of my own along the way. I owe our recent success all to Shannon, she's the host people want to drive home with every day, and yeah, she's that much fun in real life too! I too was disappointed when people like Andy Doan went to video and dropped Spaceship Radio. And while there may be times in the future that I write screenplays and TV, I can tell you now that what we're doing feeds our souls, Shan and I. Sharing this stuff with you guys gets us up in the morning. If we can make this pay, we'd never leave it. And as long as we're able to put the time and effort into it, we'll keep it going regardless. We've met so many amazing folks in the past couple of years, and meeting new people all the time. That juices me, and what's more, it makes me feel a little less alone in the universe. Every time I talk with Joe or Rich or JT or Bill or Jamie or Laura, Jeff, Jerry, Matt, Janice, and the names go on and on, I'm just reminded of how there's others out there who see the world as a magical, interesting, and connected place. And now that I have revealed myself again as being an enormous cheeseball, I'm going to head off to work. Thanks and keep up the Faith! Seriously though, It's great to hear from anyone who appreciates a podcasters work. Apart from a hit counter I'm sure a lot of people who started podcasting (in the darker moments) have thought: Is anyone really listening to this? It's easy to feel that your living in a vaccum. That your work is just sitting there. On a server, somewhere in the world and only gets listened to when you fritz with it. That's why I think a site like this is so important, it allows general feedback from other makers and fans. Someone produced a bum episode? Have a chat! Someone produced a one off that made you loose bowel control in 2 different ways? Fantastic! Let them know that they've ruined you chair! Your enthusiasm rubs off, it acts as a spur to make that production better. For apathy and silence are the bane of the creative mind. You are to be celebrated, thank you for listening! | | | | 01-18-2008 | #4 | | Elder Sign Bearer JoeRMedina is offline Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Hillsboro, OR, USA Posts: 85 | Oh man, Jamie and I can totally relate to what you just said, Clym. We often go for months, sometimes years, without feedback ... or watch the trickles in our sales, sweating the up-ticks and down-ticks in our numbers. And suddenly somebody says great job. The feedback is constantly running hot and cold. And I'll admit I was really worried about cliques forming, clouds of people kissing up to the big guys, shutting out the little guys, all that. But this has been cool. | | | | Podcasting Top 40 | | 01-18-2008 | #5 | | revolver revolver is offline Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: glasgow Posts: 111 | Podcasting Top 40 Thanks for the show of apprecation guys but it really is all about you guys as you are the ones who keep us goin.Well as i said id get back with a list of my all time fav's and just my general listens.A lot of these podcasts i found thanks to first bein showcased on sonic society so once again kudos to you jack & shannon. The zombie mafia episode was the best for me and the trapped vampire is a close second. I havnt been able to listen to many of your productions though as i cant afford to pay for everything i listen to,i do give donations when i can but cant just pay whenever i want as i have a baby on the way and a wedding to save for. So if there are any more stories you can give to the sonic society to play that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for all the time ad effort you guys put in to your productions | | | 01-18-2008 | #7 | | Elder Sign Bearer JoeRMedina is offline Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Hillsboro, OR, USA Posts: 85 | | Quote: | | | | | Hi there joe just to let you know i have loved all the ollin productions iv heard The zombie mafia episode was the best for me and the trapped vampire is a close second. | | | | | Hey, thanks, that means a lot to us. "Giallo Hotel" is still in the works, obviously. But we're trying to finish the last two episodes soon. For what it's worth, we're preparing to run episodes free on Podiobooks.com. Evo Terra kindly approached us, but there's been a lot to do and only two of us here to do it all. We'll let you know as soon as possible when they'll be available. | | | 01-19-2008 | #8 | | Just this guy ya know. And the fact that theres only two of you guys putting this stuff together means its all the more astounding the level of production value you guys have on your show. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | | All times are GMT -5.
