Default Alas, my poor MP3 player

It has decided to stop being readable by my PC, or any other I have access to. It won't format, so I got an RMA from the manufacturer. It's in their tender care now.

But this is putting me behind on my listening! Oh, the pain!

I hear Julie over at 19 Nocturne Blvd is holding a contest for an iPod shuffle...
Relates to the Temple episode.

Question

Ipod shuffle? Huh???? What kind of a budget do you think I have????

No this is just a basic mp3 player. In fact, I'm afraid it's the same type as just died?

I guess that's why I got them really cheap...

But winners get them free (from me)!!!

No worries - I'm just pretty darn sure the words "ipod shuffle" have never (in my life) come out of my mouth - no matter how tired I was.... I don't even have an ipod (of any kind), just a stack of goofy colored MP3 players.

Do check and let me know - if I somehow said that, I need to retract it since psychotropic fumes must have been involved.

I really feel your pain. I destroyed mine a while back and it was a tragedy.

Yes, but that's how I got this one. I'm ineligible. Not that I could answer the question anyway.

The worst part is tht this is my second player to fail. My first was my Samsung cell phone. The MP3 portion didn't fail, just the earpiece. So I could talk to people but not hear them. Turned out to be a design flaw in the t629's ribbon cable, and it was out of warranty. At least this one's still covered.

Over at the Dollar General here- they have a 2g for 20$, and a 1g for like 10 or 12. May not be high tech mp3 players- but I bought one a couple months back- and am happy with it. And if it gives up the ghost- I'll go get another. <though I make sure I have everything backed up on my HD at home>

Update time!

I'd heard nothing for three weeks, so I called Machspeed this past Friday. The tech told me they'd never received it. USPS said it had arrived, but I didn't have the confirmation number to hand.

So I called again today with that info. Today's tech told me it had been tagged today as replaced!? So I related to him what I was told Friday. But I wasn't smart enough to get the tech's name that day. So it goes.

Anyway, I now have a tracking number. It should be here by the end of the week. Fingers crossed!
