Professional audio theater production?

Does anyone here write and record on their own, but then hire someone else to do sound effects and post-production? If so, can anyone recommend a company or individual that does that sort of work? How much does it generally cost and how long does it generally take?

Are you looking for a foley artist? They're the ones - back when radio dramas were big - that used the coconuts on wood to give the impression of horses running by.

Give a foley artist a script, go over it with them and they'll provide all the sound effects you wish. They are not cheap. That's why they can make their living making sounds for movies and radio. How expensive? I don't know.

Post-production is similar. Especially if you live in the Los Angeles area or other film-making area. They're not cheap - you pay for their expertise and time.

Are there foley artists and post-production companies for an internet-based audio drama? I don't know. But there will be as our audio dramas become more and more popular.

I don't know - it's so easy (comparatively) to do post production and so expensive to pay someone. I would be surprised to find something like that proliferating at the amateur (meaning unpaid, not unskilled) level.
