What is 19 Nocturne Boulevard anyway? 19 Nocturne Boulevard is an anthology series in the style of The Twilight Zone - half hour stories which each stand alone and are generally in the suspense/sci fi/horror vein, though they can go anywhere I feel like. The show is written by me (Julie Hoverson), and includes both original pieces and adaptations from classic (i.e., "out of copyright"...) authors such as Lovecraft, Saki, Poe, Hawthorne, London - and for the bizarre Christmas episode, Arnold Bennett, Rudyard Kipling and Joseph Conrad. So who am I? I got into OTR back in high school, and I blame Bill Cosby and his hilarious Chickenheart routine - since I found a "Lights' Out" LP at a second hand store and fell in love. I studied screenplay writing and for several years wrote and published a critically acclaimed RPG zine called "Serendipity's Circle" dedicated to horror and weird fantasy role-playing games (the kind you play at a table, with actual humans). We got nominated several times for the Origins Award. Only started writing radio scripts a couple of years ago for my local radio show re-creation group, American Radio Theater ("ART") and got honorable mention in the NATF (National Audio Theater Festival) script contests a couple of times. I finally decided, when I hooked up with the neohoodoo guys ("The Unspeakable & Inhuman") to make a go of producing my own series, since they had a studio that was kind of going begging whenever they weren't actively recording. I actually didn't even start checking out audio drama on the Internet until after I'd already created the first 4 or 5 episodes, so until I looked around, I was judging myself entirely against Big Finish's Sapphire & Steel and the BBC, so I set myself pretty high standards... 8) Anyway, that's me and my show! __________________ --Julie Hoverson 19 Nocturne Boulevard ...and the Deadeye Kid ......and Fatal Girl .........and Tone Didactic ............and Bingo the Birthday Clown Last edited by JulieH; 09-25-2008 at 06:05 PM.. |
