Jerry - Just bought MARTIAN CHRONICLES and am looking forward to listening, but just a question about your troupe's experience with listing things on itunes.

When I follow your links from the first post in this thread I do get to the 3 titles, but if I just go to itunes and search for "Colonial Radio" i don't see them all. And I get different results if I add "players" or "theatre", etc. So does itunes really make it so hard to search for your offerings, or is there some kind of tagging necessary to make them all show up for shoppers?

Not a criticism, but more of a cautionary / educational thing for myself and others who might be looking to either buy or sell productions through itunes.

-- thanks!

Following up my own question . . .

I just tried more search terms at the itunes store and found that there are 38 results for a search for "Jerry Robbins", just 24 productions found under "Jerry Robbins, The Colonial Radio Players", but far fewer results by just searching for "Colonial Radio".

Oddly, some other productions, such as "Red Badge of Courage" only come up if you know to search for other variations of the artist name, in this case "Jerry Robbins, Nick Aalerud".

So, perhaps itunes sorting is weighted by the first few words in the artist name, or maybe there is some deeper stuff going on.

Hi Doug, You are right, we don't link to iTunes from the site because I am the one who sends the links to the webmaster, and I was not able to discover how to link on iTunes till yesterday - not being the worlds greatest computer wiz, iTunes does not have navigation bars for the pages - and I only just discovered that next to the picture there is an arrow, and when pushed that arrow gives you the page link. So, now that I feel like a dope, I will be sending the links to our webmaster and we'll be getting those on there. Also, I only just downloaded iTunes a few short weeks ago, so I never saw our titles on there anyway (our publisher puts them up, so I never had to deal with it).

I am going to forward your comments to our publisher, and hopefully they can standardize the search tags. I think the trouble is, we have been on itunes for a very long time, and the titles have been put there by several publishers (which is why in some cases there are two versions of one title). I'll try and stay with this and see if they can get things straightened out; but, with publishers, it can take a looong time!

But thanks for noticing it! Hope you like MARTIAN CHRONICLES cheers from Boston -
