Project information -
The time is five hundred years in the future. Mankind has voyaged far into space, having mastered faster than light travel through the use of wormholes. Once out of their own solar system they discovered that the galaxy was full of many alien races – some friendly and others not. Alliances were formed and a great galactic civilization centered on cooperation. Yet, mankind had not forgotten about its past – especially since Earth itself was almost destroyed before humans came to their senses.
In order to atone for the devastation and perhaps prevent it from happening in the future the Galactic Confederation created the Zooship Gaia. It is a huge starship easily the size of a modern city completely designed and operated as a zoo. Gaia’s mission is simple: to voyage through the galaxy, to fight environmental disasters wherever they occur, to save endangered species, and to promote conservation and good will throughout the Confederation.

MALES – Main cast
Name: Lt. Borask
Age: adult alien
Bio: A large member of the Kindoran race. The Kindorans are ten to twelve feet tall with skin the consistency, strength, and texture of rock. They eat different types of rocks and possess immense strength. He is one of his race’s chief security specialists and has been attached to the Gaia as Security Chief in an ambassadorial effort to promote goodwill between his species and the Confederation. He is not the best ambassador, however, since he has no skills at diplomacy and is a man of few words in general.
Voice type: Low, deep bass rock monster voice. Do your best.
Audition line 1: She is your Captain, Human, keep your glands in check before I have to save you when she tries to remove them.
Audition line 2: Yes, Captain. We await only GAIA’s awakening and your orders before we get underway.
Name: Dr. Squijert Filigort
Age: Adult Alien
Bio: He is a member of an insectoid race called the Zeem and the Head Vetrinarian. They are much like grasshoppers in the fact that they have incredible jumping abilities and are vegetarian. They possess six complex eyes set in the center of their mantis like head that enable them to see in incredible detail both far away and very close up. They posess six arms in addition to the jumping legs and each arm has a hand that has fingers that have tips that can extend quite far in order to do delicate work in small places. Squijert also is extremely strong, his top set of arms being much like praying mantis arms. He possesses a set of iridescent green wings on his back that enables him to fight and an extended abdomen with a stinger much like that of a wasp.
Voice type- Give me your best impression of a good bug voice. He has complex mandibles and would be very clicky.
Audition line 1: In the case of the flora they are mainly gathering as many samples of seeds as they can in stockpiles for easy loading.
Audition line 2: Also, they are gathering as much genetic material from every species that they come across and storing it in stasis. Each sample can be used for cloning purposes. We should do the same.
Name: ZT-39V3 “Zeet”
Age: N/A
Bio: Chief Engineer of Gaia. He possesses the entire engineering library of the Confederation as well as eight arms designed for specific engineering tasks and moves about using an anti-gravity generator to float above the floor. Zeet was designed specifically for the Gaia and interfaces extremely well with the main computer. An eccentric robot he is always modifying and upgrading himself with new gadgets and abilities – not always to the best effect.
Voice type: Robotic but with a lot of character to it
Audition line 1: I’ll do my best. I look forward to working with the beautiful GAIA.
Audition line 2: Certainly! The epitome of mechanical engineering with a voice like the purr of the finest engine, and a form of such grace and efficiency that it could make any sentient mechanoid fall apart out of ecstasy!
Name: Lt. Andre Anjou
Age: 26
Bio: Helmsman. Born and raised in Gascogne in what was once France he read the classic book The Three Musketeers and fell in love with it. He fancies himself a romantic type hero who is very good with the ladies – a modern day Musketeer – devoted to Captain and Confederation, always willing to brave danger in the name of duty (and beautiful ladies).
Vocal type: Heavy French accent, dandy, romantic woman chaser. Pretty much a D’Artagnan.
Audition line 1: And she is said to be beautiful!
Audition line 2: Sacre bleu! The robot is a romantic! I must remember that line!
FEMALES – Main Cast
Name: Dr. Candice Undomo
Age: 30s
Bio: Chief Medical Officer of the Gaia, born and raised in South Africa she entered the service of the Galactic Confederation after going through Medical school. She specializes in xenomedical research and requested the post on the Gaia as a way to meet and study the different diseases that plague different alien species, knowing that the Gaia is at the vanguard of the Confederation’s exploration efforts. She is tough, no nonsense, get the job done, and to hell with the niceties.
Voice type: South African, no nonsense, professional
Audition line 1: Most of the evacuation efforts have already been completed.
Audition line 2: Those who are left... are mainly specialists who are even now caging pets and doing their best to secure in stasis samples of the local ecology.
Name: Lt. Commander Desdemona Xanthaxis
Bio: Desdemona is the Science Officer and a member of the Thylora race, a race of people totally devoted to the pursuit of science and knowledge. The Thylora are the supreme scientists of the galaxy and offered one of their very best to the Gaia in the name of diplomacy.
Voice type: Ethereal, wise, intelligent female “old soul” though not old in body.
Audition line 1: We are going to have to keep our shields up at all times if we want to avoid any permanent damage.
Audition line 2: It shall be interesting to meet her. She is well-known – a good Captain, if a bit unconventional.
Name: GAIA
Bio: The ship itself is sentient via the ship’s main computer. She is the most advanced robotic intelligence in known creation. She can learn, express herself via the arts, has emotions, and is in every way a person. She’s just a person who happens to be a huge Zooship. She’s very young, however, having only just woken up for the first time when the Zooship was finally completed. Therefore, she is learning, growing, and stretching her capabilities.
Voice type: Non-robotic. Female, unseasoned, a bit naďve and innocent yet not excessively hyper.
Audition line 1: UNDERSTOOD, CAPTAIN. I AM FULLY FUNCTIONAL AND READY TO LEAVE ORBIT. FLEET DOCK HAS CLEARED US FOR DEPARTURE.
Audition line 2: STRUT? I HAVE NOT BEEN AWAKE LONG ENOUGH TO STRUT THOUGH THE COMPLIMENT IS APPRECIATED, ZEET.
MALE or FEMALE MAIN
Name: Lt. McCall
Bio: Communications Officer. It is a member of a species of genetically bred and engineered Scarlet Macaws from South America that are quite as intelligent as Humans and have become full citizens. It’s actual body is four feet tall to accommodate the larger brain size and its tail is a further six feet long. McCall is a member of its kind that truly has mastered languages and communication, having an uncanny ability to pick up and become fluent in the various languages it hears in remarkable time and actually retain the language over time.
Vocal type: Parrot voice but a real person and quite intelligent.

Name: Admiral Reinzgot
Age: 50s
Bio: Admiral at Fleet HQ
Vocal type: Heavy German accent, all business but has a sense of humor, a bit fatherly
Audition line 1: First of all, congratulations on your promotion Captain. GAIA is finally ready and she’s about ready to be turned on for the FIRST TIME at her FULLY sentient capacity.
