I can verify everything she's said having also gotten tiny roles on stage. In the show I'm producing (which you should get to hear next month) there's an episode where one reccurring character only had two lines. I felt bad that he showed up to do such minimal work, but being a consumate professional he put his all into two lines that I thought were just a throwaway gag. They ended up being the funniest lines in the episode. We all were clutching our sides and covering our mouths so we wouldn't ruin the take each time. Horray for great actors with few lines. | | | 07-10-2008 | #13 | | Barbarian in need of Ale Bill Hollweg is offline Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Texas Posts: 10,995 | | Quote: | | | | | Just to hammer home the point that everyone else has already beaten to death, Alexa is very, very correct. I'm proof of that. | | | 07-11-2008 | #15 | | Moderator Jack J Ward is offline Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia Posts: 1,914 | | Quote: | | | | | There are no small parts, only small actors. Along with that: I've got a face for radio. Too bad about the voice. | | | 07-12-2008 | #18 | | Imagination Lane Audio alexachipman is offline Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Petaluma, CA & Harlech, UK Posts: 1,748 | I was wandering into a local radio station on Thursday (trying to pick them up as a client for an ad agency I work for) and there was a lovely girl djing at the time who definitely had a "face" for radio. Pity nobody sees it. Why am I even posting this? Oh...right... midnight and too much scotch... lol But seriously Wesley, you're fantastic, don't sell yourself short. *this advertisement was paid for by "bring back crimson lein" and its affiliates | | | 07-12-2008 | #19 | | Creating Audio Since 1971 Wesley is offline Join Date: Jan 2008 Posts: 213 | Haha! In all seriousness, I have no end of ego when it comes to my voice and acting ability. My lack of acting gigs right now is totally and completely due to my laziness, not a fear of sounding dumb. The jokes are just that. Self-deprecating humor's my favorite, because I know I'm joking and then nobody gets hurt. That said, though, please don't hold your breath waiting for more Crimson Lien audio drama. I'd hate to be responsible for any deaths. | | | 07-12-2008 | #20 | | Imagination Lane Audio alexachipman is offline Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Petaluma, CA & Harlech, UK Posts: 1,748 | | Quote: | | | | | That said, though, please don't hold your breath waiting for more Crimson Lien audio drama.
