I don't know what they are counting to decide this chart, but I'd guess it's the number of new subscriptions. Which means I'll probably drop of the chart real soon. I can't complain at that. I never expected to get on any of the charts, never mind at number one. __________________ Science Fiction Audio Drama and Audio Books from Cossmass Productions - http://cossmass.co.uk/ | | | 04-11-2008 | #2 | | Moderator Jack J Ward is offline Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia Posts: 1,914 | HOORAH!!! It's still only a tiny, tiny fragment of the total podiobooks.com audience. __________________ Science Fiction Audio Drama and Audio Books from Cossmass Productions - http://cossmass.co.uk/ | | | 04-11-2008 | #4 | | Head Bottle Washer Crash is offline Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Saint Petersburg, Florida Posts: 643 | Way to go! Splendid! I just started listening to Rebels a few days ago, and am now on Ep. 14, sick at heart at the prospect of there being no more episodes available yet. What a great story! And so subversive. Brilliant critique of capitalist imperialism & the corporate state, cast into a compelling & highly intelligent sci-fi tale. I haven't googled the author's name yet to see who he was to produce sophisticated a political sci-fi thriller way back in the early 60's. Wouldn't be surprised if he was blacklisted by HUAC for his views. | | | | | | 04-12-2008 | #8 | | Cossmass Productions Paul Campbell is offline Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Scotland Posts: 316 | | Quote: | | | | | Hear hear! This is from the 1961 author blurb. I believe he came back to write a few YA novels about ten years ago. | Quote: | | | | CHARLES L. FONTENAY writes: "I was born in Brazil of a father who was by birth English and by parentage German and French, and of a mother who was by birth American and by parentage American and Scottish. This mess of internationalism caused me some trouble in the army during World War II as the government couldn't decide whether I was American, British, or Brazilian; and both as an enlisted man and an officer I dealt in secret work which required citizenship by birth. On three occasions I had to dig into the lawbooks. Finally they gave up and admitted I was an American citizen.... "I was raised on a West Tennessee farm and distinguished myself in school principally by being the youngest, smallest (and consequently the fastest-running) child in my classes ... Newspaper work has been my career since 1936. I have worked for three newspapers, including The Nashville Tennessean for which I am now rewrite man, and before the war for the Associated Press." Mr. Fontenay is married, lives in Madison, Tenn., and has had one other novel published by Ace Books. | | | | | __________________ Science Fiction Audio Drama and Audio Books from Cossmass Productions - http://cossmass.co.uk/ | | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | | All times are GMT -5.
