while reading a book I picked up recently called
History's Worst Inventions, I spotted something regarding Nikolai Tesla's plans for a "Teleforce", designed to shoot off death rays from a distance.
Guess what is one of the main features of such a weapon is? Go on, guess.
Towers. A row of towers!
description of Tesla's Teleforce the reason why it was never constructed? Other than lack of funds and people considering Tesla to be a crackpot - it involved the fact that a proper type of power source hadn't been developed that could handle the amount of energy needed.
Tesla proposed this in 1937. Now, consider this. Fredrich Von Schlitz would certainly be interested in the theories and research of Tesla, could certainly see the value to the Reich of such a weapon - and he would certainly be clever enough to find a power source that could handle such a death ray.
A power source driven by Dark Magic. Maybe even modified to send off not only energy beams but spells. Perhaps strong enough to send them out to targets all over the world.
And methinks that Von Schlitz is planning to use the recently captured Destroyer as its unwilling battery. I doubt very much, being a Nazi, that Von Schlitz is going to actually make any deals with The Destroyer - and we all know that anyone making any pacts with The Destroyer eventually ends up as crispy critters at the end.
that's MY flight of Wild Speculation - and if I'm wrong, I certainly gave it a good shot!
