I'm downloading this right now... In case you're not aware, "Rue-Morgue Magazine" has a one page retrospective on the TV show in their newest issue which is pretty cool.

Ok, I have to say that unless I'm just a bit slow, .. there was a LOT of backstory that appears to be brought from the TV show. That means a LOT of narration and characters describing the past and not acting in their present. I found this interesting, but a bit slow.

Yeah, but that's also a soap opera for you - back before VCRs, they had to assume that people may have missed an episode, and they had to continuously recap things.

Looking at it that way, it's right on point.
