But seriously, Kit Baxter would have to take a break from the ass kicking to bear through the contractions... and if she did try to do it anyways a terrible thing might happen to the baby. Unless she waits until post-birth and all that, but she would waste time with her own child and probably give it to John Doe or Dr. Anna. One would be caring but with hydraulic robot hands, and the other one is... well, if she weren't a Canadian citizen, some of her bedside manner would make... Rasputin blush. I didn't want to say Hitler... because, you know, he's the bad guy... | | | | 04-06-2012 | #212 | | Audiofile davidg is offline Join Date: Oct 2009 Location: Brooklyn NY Posts: 667 | At some point, .. when both our heroes finally come back together.. I can imagine when they start to put together a shopping list of who they have told their identities.. and I'll bet it turns out that Mrs. Baxter (Grandma) has known almost all along.. .... on the other hand, that would ALMOST be a sitcom technique.. and not something we'd want to find in the pulpy goodness of Toronto's terrific two-some. __________________ "Between subtle shading and the absence of light lies the nuance of illusion." - Deciphered text from the CIA's Kryptos by James Sanborn. | | | 04-08-2012 | #213 | | Audiofile KitJackson67 is offline Join Date: Oct 2010 Posts: 161 | | Quote: | | | | | I had a disturbing thought this afternoon. What with Kit now out of action and convalescing after the birth, that might lead to a window where Harry Kelly runs off and joins the Canadian Army to fight in Europe (of course lying about his age). That might give Kit TWO reasons to go off to Europe - to save Harry, and to find RP........ | | | | | Not as long as his mother has anything to say about it. She would have to sign off, unless Harry forges her signature, and that doesn't sound like something he'd do. | | | | | | 04-09-2012 | #214 | | Audiofile davidg is offline Join Date: Oct 2009 Location: Brooklyn NY Posts: 667 | | Quote: | | | | | Not as long as his mother has anything to say about it. Another issue is, in a way, very similar to what TRP was saying when HE signed up, .. if he didn't get the chance to go, then the world would think him a coward for the rest of his life, no matter the real situation. How many guys, at age 16.. or so.. envision a life ahead (perhaps as long as 60 years ;-) ) filled with other peoples perception that you were a coward.. Even a 4F rating (which I'm sure Mrs. Baxter-Fenwick could arrange for him) would NOT protect him from that ignominy. __________________ "Between subtle shading and the absence of light lies the nuance of illusion." - Deciphered text from the CIA's Kryptos by James Sanborn. | | | | | the magic words | | 05-02-2012 | #215 | | Audio Newbie Banff is offline Join Date: May 2012 Posts: 4 | the magic words what if the words to put "humpty dumpty back together" were the immortal "Kit Baxter behave yourself." | | | 05-08-2012 | #216 | | Audiofile franollie is offline Join Date: Jun 2009 Location: Philadelphia-ish Posts: 192 | | Quote: | | | | what if the words to put "humpty dumpty back together" were the immortal "Kit Baxter behave yourself." | | | | | Ooooo. Interesting thought. __________________ | | | 05-08-2012 | #217 | | Agent Ninety-Three-One WorldsAway is offline Join Date: Feb 2010 Posts: 318 | That's an awesome thought. Although how would he manage that without his memory? (It took me a full five minutes to understand this, by the way. I was thinking of the whole rhyme, so I thought it had something to do with the episode "All the King's Men". Now I'm less confused) __________________ Yes, I am doing NaNoWriMo this year! At the very least, I think we should see an ep that would somehow demean his manhood because he is still home. Might make an interesting scene with Private Kelly being rescued by both the Flying Squirrel AND Auggie.. who THEN would regain his entire memory of self, .. and then .... I'm sure Von Schlitz would come out and laugh maniacally and say it was ALL a part of his plan! __________________ "Between subtle shading and the absence of light lies the nuance of illusion." - Deciphered text from the CIA's Kryptos by James Sanborn. | | | | 06-11-2012 | #219 | | Radio Active guy Nuclear Knight is offline Join Date: Jun 2012 Location: Greater Los Angeles Posts: 17 | hi from the new guy. Random thoughts on wher The Red Panda Adventures is going. Presently there are two story lines heading for an unavoidable plot point. Von Schlitz has the Destroyer controlled and is about to win the war unless stopped. Our heroes have to stop him. Kit and John need help, so The Panda has to show up, ideally resolve the split memories problem by meeting up with Kit, but that's option. My guess is the coastal towers are part of the process pf controling the Destroyer and Parker's Rangers finally getting around to their original assignment might be the initial move to end the menace, though keeping the released Destroyer from wreaking havoc on Earth might take a lot of effort. __________________ Usenet disproved the myth that 1.000.000 chimps with keyboards could produce great literature. | | | 06-29-2012 | #220 | | Audio Fan rosadraconum is offline Join Date: Mar 2008 Posts: 67 | My speculation is that the "ancient archives" that Tom Tomorrow read to learn about WWII were actually The Poet's volumes that he writes while in service as a strategist. They're also possibly what lead the Stranger to try using the Time Platform to come back. John did say that they'd be classified for about 80 years, which would probably be far enough in the future to be in the time of the Red Squirrel. The poetic form might mean that the Poet uses more metaphorical language, and therefore the language isn't as specific as it might otherwise be. But verse as great as The Poet's would definitely continue to circulate for 500 years. It worked for Shakespeare, it will work for The Poet. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | | All times are GMT -5.
