THAT was lots of fun! Thank you! You added some characters and filled in some things that the original really didn't deal with.

I loved hearing your insight into Lavinia's experience and character!

And the vocal performance(s)? behind Wilbur's brother was very cool and creepy.

DavidG - oddly, the only character I added from whole cloth was Miss Ward at the Library.

Everyone else is mentioned (though not necessarily by a name) in the original story - Armitage's wife and doctor, "five policemen down from Aylsbury", and the variety of townsfolk (pared down from about 20 mentioned to about 7). Even my "Widow Zebulon" originated with "Old Zebulon Whateley" - just that Rhys did such a good job reading the role, I swapped the gender to give it to her!

I'm just sneaky that way.....

I did push around the events to make it more active and cinematic, though.

Great job. I loved this! And good job with your added characters. You sort of need to do that with some Lovecraft stories, especially if you want more women in them.

Wonderful production! Very much enjoyed it, start-to-finish. Adapting that story was no small achievement, and it was pulled off masterfully, Great job, Julie (and everyone involved)!

So far as I can recall, I've never read a Lovecraft work, from his main body of work, that had a woman main character. On the HP Podcraft podcast they DID read one he had ghost-written that had a woman main character.. and even THEY were surprised by that!

Yup. Lovecraft was scared of women.

The closest HPL tends to get to a female character being actually present boils down to the Landlady in Cool Air, The Witch in Dreams in the Witch-House, and Asenath Derby in The Thing on the Doorstop, who is actually a man in a woman's body.
