Yes, it's a dishearteningly and prohibitively large leap in price.
But on the forum (before the feedback thread was deleted) it seemed to be that the new focus was very much on selling to independent film-makers, tv pros and so on, rather than to people making free entertainment.
They do have discounted offers for non-profit organisations and teachers, although you need to have official proof that you are a non-profit organisation (I don't quite know how that would work - I assume you'd have to register your audio drama company/production on some kind of official level to get the paperwork?)
Then again, having looked around on other websites listed on
stonewashed.net , in fact the number of free creative commons sound sites seems to have grown considerably in the last year or so. Soundsnap was great while it lasted, but there are still a lot of great resources out there.
