When a dragon shows up demanding a maiden, someone's bound to get self-preservation-type ideas, you know? So, it's all actually very nicey - nothing offensive, no bad language, but a number of light codpiece jokes, and other strong ... allusions. So here's the strange question - I'm trying to decide if I should put a warning on the episode. You know, something like "this episode contains mature humor" or something - but the humor is not really offensive, so I don't want to set people up to assume it is. Nothing happens "on-screen", so it's not "scenes of a graphic nature"... Opinions? __________________ --Julie Hoverson 19 Nocturne Boulevard ...and the Deadeye Kid ......and Fatal Girl .........and Tone Didactic ............and Bingo the Birthday Clown | | | | 07-08-2010 | #2 | | Barbarian in need of Ale Bill Hollweg is offline Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Texas Posts: 11,001 | I would- couldn't hurt as parents <and grandparents like myself> appreciate at least some idea of what the kiddos listen to. and a rating assists | | | 07-08-2010 | #3 | | Moderator Jack J Ward is offline Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia Posts: 1,914 | It's a good idea to use the AD rating system on all your shows anyway to give parents a clue (IMO?) | | | 07-08-2010 | #4 | | 1-Woman Butt-Kicking Army JulieH is offline Join Date: May 2008 Posts: 3,494 | I know that's your thing. I put warnings, if necessary, in the opening credits. One reason they're so long... Lord knows I'm not going back to re-edit the last 42 episodes using someone else's system. __________________ --Julie Hoverson 19 Nocturne Boulevard ...and the Deadeye Kid ......and Fatal Girl .........and Tone Didactic ............and Bingo the Birthday Clown | | | 07-08-2010 | #5 | | Mysterious! unterhund is offline Join Date: Jan 2009 Posts: 391 | IME humor like that is seldom mature, but rather immature. (Which is not to say I don't get a chuckle out of it, of course.) But as a parent who shares his AD, I'd appreciate the warning on the ep. Now if I could just get more than one of my kids listening . . . | | | 07-08-2010 | #6 | | Moderator Jack J Ward is offline Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia Posts: 1,914 | | Quote: | | | | | I know that's your thing. No one says you have to re-edit your shows. But there's nothing stopping you from adding them to new ones either J | | | 07-08-2010 | #7 | | Writer-Director-Producer LarisaNaples is offline Join Date: Jun 2010 Location: Silicon Valley, CA Posts: 54 | | Quote: | | | | | OUR thing Julie. Do we have one for "Sexually Suggestive"? | | | 07-08-2010 | #8 | | Barbarian in need of Ale Bill Hollweg is offline Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Texas Posts: 11,001 | Last edited by Bill Hollweg; 07-08-2010 at 05:23 PM.. | | | 07-08-2010 | #9 | | 1-Woman Butt-Kicking Army JulieH is offline Join Date: May 2008 Posts: 3,494 | I never signed on to that particular "our," and "your" can be plural. Unless there was an election I missed, I don't think anyone got made the boss of me, and I do get awfully tired of being told what I should or should not do, particularly in my own forum. This is not, however, a debate about that, it was a straightforward question, which has been answered. Thanx for participating, everyone! __________________ --Julie Hoverson 19 Nocturne Boulevard ...and the Deadeye Kid ......and Fatal Girl .........and Tone Didactic ............and Bingo the Birthday Clown | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | | All times are GMT -5.
