I'm still not sure how I feel about Lovecraft's work being turned into shaggy dog stories . . .

Now, now - shaggy dog implies they're treating it like something that didn't really happen. Just cause they like to play jokes in conjunction with the stories doesn't mean that the stories themselves are intended to be untrue...

The uncertainty of it all certainly helps, 'tis true. So does the banter, the sidetracks, etc. And as long as you keep producing them, I'll keep listening.

It's also a nice way to portray stories which otherwise wouldn't turn into audio dramas easily. Either they're too short, too much backstory, too much in the ehad of the narrator, etc.

This way, I can pad, snip, or sidetrack when the exposition gets too much.
