Status update I've been quiet. Too quiet. I had planned to have a hiatus after episode 6 to get ahead on production. Sadly that didn't happen as planned due to my dissatisfaction with the scripts I'd written. No one's fault but mine. I'd written scripts for several episodes after episode 6, then decided I'd taken the wrong path to get to the next check point in the story. So I've backed up and scouted a new path. I'm much, much happier with this new path. I'm not throwing out everything from those earlier scripts. Most of what I came up with for them is still valid, but will be presented differently. Thanks especially to Laura and Janice for their notes on some of those first scripts. The problems I had were in the episodes that followed what you read for me. One big change that I'm making is to tighten the focus within each episode. The story is up and running now after 6 episodes. Now I think I should pick one thread of the story and follow that for a couple of episodes. The first thread to be picked up on is following Valdor and Ross as they return home to Kalsor Alpha. They take with them the news that the La'Shareti are violating their Treaty. You will get to see the consequences of Valdor and Juriphel's brief encounter in Edinburgh Castle. And you'll get it in two back-to-back episodes. Rather than spread out over half a dozen, as I had originally planned. That does mean you won't find out what happens to Sarah, Nicolas and Liam as they chase Peter and Elkin through the Talim portal from the Castle until episode 9. But when you do it will be in a group of (maybe three) episodes that focuses on just them. I also have some more time back to myself after staging The Graduate last weekend. Yes, the cast was composed almost entirely of names familiar to listeners of Estalvin's Legacy. Thanks for you patience. I'll have more news as work progresses. __________________ Science Fiction Audio Drama and Audio Books from Cossmass Productions - http://cossmass.co.uk/ |
