Still not found the McDowell reads, but did find David McCallum's THE RATS IN THE WALLS

Also I've come across a whole library of newly read Lovecraft audiobooks read by Wayne June. Wayne has a voice like a cross between James Earl Jones and Tom Waites... deep, gravelly yet smooth. This guy is perfect for reading HPL. The cool thing is that the publisher, AudioRealms, has been diligent at getting the CDs out to libraries and so should either be easy to find at your local library or through inter-library loan. There are samples of each story at the AudioRealms website. Volume 7 with Charles Dexter Ward should be out anytime now.

Actually McCallum did all three - Haunter of the Dark, Dunwich Horror, and Rats in the Walls. They're pretty hard to find, but truly excellent.

I just posted the David McCallum version of "The Dunwich Horror" at my blog HERE

There are some other Lovecraft recordings on sale on ebay, but they're CD-R copies of the seller's LPs. Still as some have said they are very rare, and may be worth it to some.

I recently found a copy of the Roddy McDowall Reads Lovecraft LP on ebay. No sooner than I won my auction then 2 more copies showed up (and sold) for about half what I paid for mine. Figures huh.
