LT. COMMANDER GREG “TORK” TORKELSON – A by-the-book officer; patient; takes life a little too seriously. Human male. Late 20s-Early 30s.
LINE 1: In the darkest reaches of the United Federation of Planets, an isolated station stands sentinel over a neglected frontier. Once a thriving port, it is now a lonely gateway to the vast expanse beyond, where discovery...and adventure...await.
LINE 2: Interference from the Ferengi ship is preventing us from transporting them. You're going to have to go over with transport tags. Exler, survey the damage from inside and see if you can extract their sensor logs. We need to know what caused this.
LT. RENOVA EXLER – Female, late 20s-Early 30s. Fiercely loyal to those she has deemed worthy, Exler takes responsibility very seriously. Hails from Sigma Iotia II. Her accent should reflect a Midwestern tone with a 1920s Chicago mobster influence.
LINE 1: I get your reference, Captain, but where I come from, boogeymen aren't spectral and don't walk through walls. They hide in alleys fitting people with concrete galoshes. Cement overshoes? Sorry...one of the sayings I learned from my grandfather. He grew up during the old times on Sigma Iotia II. Never mind. The point is, we never found him or an explanation.
LINE 2: One word to the wise. Starfleet says this is your ship. Knox knows that Starfleet says this is your ship, but he doesn't really care. As far as Chief Knox is concerned, this is HIS ship, and all of us mugs are simply necessary evils he has to tolerate.
CHIEF PETTY OFFICER BURT “HARD” KNOX – Male. Late 40s-50s. He’s not well-spoken and speaks with a thick, heavy accent (any voicing). Rough, gruff and socially unacceptable, he borders on the edge of antisocial. More in touch with machines than with people. Chief engineer, USS CHIMERA
LINE 1: Knox to Takahara. Comm's down. You'd better get it back up if you ever want to call yer mommy again! Knox to Torkelson. Happy now?
LINE 2: You just go sit in your shiny Captain's chair on your clean Captain's bridge and spout your Captain's orders, and don't worry about what goes on on my ship. She'll do anything you can think to ask o' her, and tha's all ya need t' know.
DR. RACHEL WINSTON – Strong willed medical doctor. Female, late 30s-40s. An excellent medical doctor who truly enjoys her job for its inherent benefits of healing the injured or ill. However, behind the exterior façade lie many secrets.
LINE 1: (DEFENSIVELY) We were all breathing the same stuff over there. Could it have affected her and no-one else? She was there longer, so maybe, but doubtful. She also absorbed quite a shock to her system. Could that increase her chances for a hallucination? The more you pile on the what-ifs, the more I'm going to have to admit that it is a possibility.
LINE 2: Look, Goshen. Keep your hands and your propositions to yourself. I know I'm a doctor, but if you touch me like that again, I'll break your arm. (TO HERSELF) Which would just create more work for me.
CAPTAIN MONTY BUCHANAN – Human male, late 50s. He’s a no-nonsense, hands-off commander of DS3. Vain, bitter and cheap. Position is very important; willing to step on toes to move his career along.
LINE 1: Lieutenant Forrestal and Chief Knox have been dealing with each other for three years now, with no interference from me. Neither will file an incident report, nor will they make recommendations or do anything that might require the administration of this station to document or in any other way expend resources on this unfortunate series of events. I am directing you to show the same discretion.[SLIGHT PAUSE] No more...no less.
DAIMON YURREL – An ambitious male Ferengi trader. Mid 30s-40s. Owner of the ship “Profitable Venture”. Typical Ferengi looking for ways to increase his personal stock of latinum.
LINE 1: I shall demand restitution. Let's see ... replacement of my ship, payment for the cargo, lost profits, and that's just a start. (AFTERTHOUGHT #1) And my crew! Starfleet places a high value on crews. I will need remuneration for my crew. (AFTERTHOUGHT #2) And some for their families, with a small finders fee for myself, of course. All with a reasonable interest rate accruing from the time of the attack ...
GOSHEN – Male Ferengi. Mid-30s. An ambitious employee of Yurrel. The kind of Ferengi who will fall for the “get rich quick scheme.” Seeks a short-cut to fame and fortune. But mostly fortune.
LINE 1: Thank you hue-mon. But you understand, of course, that because we didn't finish our negotiations before you aided me, I don't owe you anything under our contract.
LT. JENNIFER FORRESTAL – Human female, late 20s. Engineering Officer. An energetic, yet wet-behind-the-ears officer with more “book learning” than practical real-world experience. Any voicing.
LINE 1: [IN A RUSH] Yes, yes. Welcome to Deep Space 3. We're very happy to have you here and look forward to working with you. BUT WHAT IS THE MEANING OF TURNING THE LEONE OVER TO CHIEF KNOX!?
LINE 2: (To herself.) Well, this is a new low for him: Telling the truth. Can you believe it? He finally acknowledges me as a superior, and not only am I not there to hear it, but it's still just a ploy to get what he wants!
LT. KAREN DENALI – A dedicated science officer. Human female. Late 20s. The kind of person that sees the best in others. Patient and very "goal oriented." Any voicing.
LINE 1: And I wish you'd stay here. But, Greg, this is the life of a single Starfleet Officer. We always knew this day could come ... that one of us would be reassigned to a new command, or a new project. And this is wonderful opportunity for you.
HELMSMAN KYLE – Male or Female. Early 20s. The eager third officer of the USS CHIMERA. Any voicing.
LINE 1: Dear god ... that was a D'Kora class ship? Where's the rest of it?
GILES – Male or Female. Mid 20s. An able medical assistant aboard the USS Chimera. Any voicing.
LINE 1: When I went to open the storage locker, the Daimon burst out.
JOHNSON – Male or Female. Mid 20s. An able medical assistant aboard the USS Chimera. Any voicing.
LINE 1: We've located all the remaining life signs, Doctor. There were 15 crew members. We are transporting the last one back to the Chimera now.
CAPTAIN SAYZAR TYRELLIAN – Male. Early 40s. The typical “fly by the seat of your pants” captain. Adventurous Kirk-like character -- willing to take risks, to go where angels fear to tread.
LINE 1: (Ghostly) Renova. I'm here...
LINE 2: (Ghostly) Dark...cold...help me...
PIRATE CAPTAIN – Male/Female, 30s-50s, Any voicing.
LINE 1: I'm sure there's nothing we could add to what the Federation is already doing. However, the Venture was carrying some cargo that was destined for the Solar Winds. We are interested in what may have been recovered from the Venture before she was destroyed.
CAPTAIN STEELE – Male or Female, late 40s. Any voicing.
LINE 1: Those have the sounds of famous last words, Commander. Like: "Tribbles are harmless little creatures," or "I'm sure the Romulans will see the logic of the argument."
CAPTAIN BAKER – Male/Female. Late 40s. Commander, USS GORGON. Any voicing.
LINE 1: That's one fight I don't want you to put me and the Gorgon in the middle of. We will be docking soon, Commander. I’ll take it from here. You’d better get your gear together.
COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER, USS GORGON – Male or Female. Early 20s. Any voicing.
LINE 1: Captain, we have a ship approaching from starboard-low. Computer identifies it as the Runabout Bond from Deep Space Three. We are being hailed.
SHIP’S COMPUTER – Female voice, Mid 20s-40s. Any voicing.
LINE 1: Sections of the facility were fabricated at Starfleet Corps of Engineers Earth Orbital Assembly Yard, and the Rigel Very Large Structure Group. Sections designated for this facility manufactured at the Cestus III Assembly Yard were diverted to Star Base one six two.
PA SYSTEM ANNOUNCER ON DS 3 – Female, 20s-40s. Any voicing.
LINE 1: [VERY PLEASANT OVER THE PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEM] The White Zone is for loading and unloading only. Please do not loiter in the White Zone. Welcome to Deep Space 3.
KLINGON PA SYSTEM ANNOUNCER ON DS3 – Male, 20s-40s The voice should be, well, very Klingon.
LINE 1: (VERY, WELL, KLINGON OVER THE PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEM) NaDev ghoS Daq Deep Space wej!
ALIEN PA SYSTEM ANNOUNCER – Male or Female, 20s-40s. The voice should be, well, very alien. Any voicing.
LINE 1: [VERY, WELL, ALIEN] Reglak, segein hostef Deep Space Tri.
TRANSPORTER ATTENDANT – Male/Female, 20s-30s, Any voicing.
LINE 1: (URGENT) Captain, I have Lieutenant Exler in the Transporter Room. She's...
