David, I couldn't agree with you more. Those first couple of episodes are an embarrassment to the rest of the series, and I want to redo them one day. You're certainly not the first person to tell me that. Later on, I think you'll find that the narration picks up. I don't have a natural gift for dramatic narration, and it was something I had to learn through time, practice, and most importantly, valuable listener comments like yours.
As for the backstory, I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. You don't need to understand much of it to follow the plot, but at the same time, there's a lot there for those who want to dive in and really take in the whole picture. I wouldn't be surprised if you picked something new up every time you listened. In fact, that's my hope
